Tribute to James Palgrave – GIST Cancer UK Trustee Board Member

James PalgraveDear friends of GIST Cancer UK
We are very sad to report that our lovely colleague and friend James Palgrave has passed away.

James was diagnosed with GIST in June 2016 and joined GCUK as a trustee offering to help the charity with our IT needs when our previous IT specialist retired.

After successful surgery in 2017 James developed inoperable liver metastases which were treated with a series of systemic therapies. Tragically, the tumours mutated out of control of the drugs.

James was always so helpful in spite of all he was going through and he managed to retain a good sense of humour as well. It is really sad not having him as part of our team, he was such a great help and guided us through a major transformation in our IT platforms.

In all our dealings with James he was always so kind and helpful, a real gentleman.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to James’ sons and Marcela and to all of James’ family and friends.

We are so very grateful for James’ dedication and for all that he has achieved for GIST Cancer UK and the GIST patient community.

Thank you, James, we miss you x

With love from your friends and colleagues at GIST Cancer UK
