Tribute to David Falconer – GIST Cancer UK Trustee Board Member

David Falconer

Dear friends of GIST Cancer UK
We have some very sad news to report. Our dear friend and colleague David Falconer has sadly passed away, having succumbed to Lung Cancer.

David spent many years in the pharmaceutical industry, primarily in Oncology. He was specifically involved with sunitinib which is used as a treatment for GIST and interacted with many of the leading clinicians and health care professionals.

David joined our team at GIST Cancer UK when he retired from the pharmaceutical industry and was initially a special advisor. He later became a Trustee and then Treasurer as well as a special advisor for our charity, enabling us to benefit from his wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of GIST cancer. As a proud Scotsman he helped us to expand our reach to patients and clinicians in Scotland and took personal responsibility for hosting our patient meetings in his homeland.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and sons and to all of David’s family and friends.

We are very grateful for all that David has done for the GIST patient community both in his professional life and for the charity.

Thank you, David.
With love from your friends and colleagues at GIST Cancer UK
